The 2022 vintage from Wendling Vineyard continues to showcase the remarkable character of this exceptional site. Under the meticulous care of owner Paul Ardzrooni, this steep, Pacific-influenced property, the most northwesterly vineyard in Anderson Valley, demands patience and diligence in viticulture. The 2022 growing season allowed Winemaker Erich Bradley to thoughtfully orchestrate the harvest of multiple heritage Pinot Noir clones, including 828, 943, and Pommard. This harmonious blend speaks to the site's complexity, with each clone contributing unique layers to the final wine. Our privileged access to the southeast-facing block at Wendling continues to yield fruit of singular distinction, and the measured use of new French oak provides an elegant framework for the wine's natural grace. The resulting wine exhibits the hallmark precision and sophistication that has become synonymous with this special vineyard designation.
